Surfing in Bali: December 21st 2007
Wet season in Bali means Nusa Dua, Sanur Reef, Serangan and Keramas are the go to places for surfing. People still surf over the west side in place such as Kuta and Legian however lately the wet windy weather has meant empty beaches recently.
BaliWaves mentioned that the locals were tearing it up the other day at Legian, making the most of the smallish waves and tourists were getting the most they could out of the sunshine. MagicSeaweed’s surf report indicates that Thursday December 27th could be a decent day at Nusa Dua, with a predicted swell height of 4.5ft, period of 14 seconds, swell direction heading NE and a 4mph offshore wind.
Newcomers to surfing in Bali hoping to learn should take a couple of days surfing lessons at a reputable surf school. Kuta and Legian are te best places to learn with Bali Learn to Surf, Palu, Rip Curl all in the area. You might pay $20-$30 for a 2 hour course, and its will be worth every penny.
