Megalodon – Restaurant Kuta Bali
Another fairly recent arrival in Kuta is Megalodon, a restaurant situated next to Maccaroni on Jl. Legian. People might remember a coffee shop called Dome, well that is now Megalodon. One of the ways you can identify Megalodon is a young lady named Komang, who stands outside in a French maid outfit, offering the menu. I stopped by and checked out the menu which went as follows.
Megalodon has one of those menu’s that never ends. They even have little flags next to the photos of the dishes, identifying the country it originated from, so weary customers can chart their way through.
Appetizers including Apple Salad with Scampi (28,000rp)
Salad Selections including Chef’s Salad (38,000rp)
Soups including Tom Kha Gai (28,000rp)
Sandwiches including Club Sandwich (guess where that’s from?) (35,000rp)
Burgers including Hamburger (45,000rp)
Pasta including Spaghetti alla Cremino Concerto de Beef Stroganoff (70,000rp)
Noodles including Tami Goreng (45,000rp)
Main Courses (divided into Chicken, Pork, Seafood, Beef, Gratin) including Soy Roast Chicken (58,000rp)
Rice Menu including Loco Moco (60,000rp)
Chips & Side Dishes including Fish & Chips (50,000rp)
Desserts including Crepe with Chocolate & Banana (25,000rp)
Traffic was noisy and this open air place had the music going too. The staff, Komang from Denpasar, and Roy from Medan in Sumatra were nice. I did a short interview and obviously our communication was a stalling a bit. Megalodon is open from 11am – 2am. Its perfect for a shopping break, grab a coffee, cold drink or lunch. Great for people watching. Could be a bit noisy and small for a romantic dinner.
