Made’s Warung Seminyak Bali
Made’s Warung in Seminyak is a great hang out place for visitors and expats. Located on Jl. Seminyak on the right side heading north, Made’s Warung has a big sign and a Parkirman outside, assisting drivers to get into the rear parking lot.
Made’s Warung has a large garden area with tables and chairs, plus an inside section with the ‘warung style’ tables layout. Warung style means long table and bench seating. I always prefer this to the ‘everyman is an island’ style
that westerners go for.
Sunday night I went over to Made’s Warung for dinner. Looking at the menu I saw they serve a selection of western food, including, steaks, pasta, burgers, salads, and also Indonesian and Balinese food. The nasi campur has gone up in price and is now 25,000rp, which is still not that expensive. I chose the fish curry for 45,000rp which came with rice. It was delicious and having tried the beef curry before, I can recommend the curries.
A small Bintang was 19,000rp, which is not cheap! An arak madu is 20,000rp. Made’s Warung is a people watching place galore, and cool just to sit and sip a drink. The staff are all Balinese and I chatted with a couple of them. One lady told me she had eaten a beef dish earlier at the restaurant, which is rare, as most restaurants in Bali do not give their staff food.
Made’s Warung is ideal for families, groups or couples. You might want to reserve a table on Friday / Saturday nights.
