Cafe Latte @ Cafe Seminyak

Bali kopi (coffee) is dark coffee with grounds chucked into a cup. Its pretty basic but I got used to it. Problem for me is that an hour after the coffee wears off I feel like I’m on dope and have to lay down. Recently I changed to cafe latte, a foofoo drink, that will not give me such a jolt.

Cafe Seminyak next to Bintang supermarket, has recently added an inside seating area, which gives welcome shade from the sun and rain. Yesterday a snack seller arrived with a huge basket of local foods, peanuts, fruit, crackers, rice, cooked veg, and as is normal in Bali, the staff pounced like a cat on a mouse. I know they are hurting for cash, so I bought the staff their snacks, 2 big bags for about 8,000rp. They’ll probably still be thanking me 6 months from now. This is a good example of gift giving. Everybody was able to share, and it was something they already like. No point taking a local to a high end restaurant, a bag of rice and fruit will please them more. Two of the ladies at Cafe Seminyak are ‘preggers’, and they are all crazy over Jevon. A typical question I get is ‘Jevon sehat?'(Jevon healthy?).

Cafe latte & chocolatine 18,400rp.
