Beef and vegetable curry: Joulla’s Seminyak

This morning I worked at Joulla’s in Jl. Dhyana Pura in Seminyak. The German restaurant has free internet access and is becoming more popular by the day. While working, I bumped into Deb Bobier and her husband Roger. These globe trotters are yoga fans and have a business importing cool things.

They will be out here for a few weeks before heading to China and Vietnam. Anyway, Joulla’s reminds me of those ‘free beer’ places on the Gold Coast. You know, for 1 hour the beer is free, 250 people and one 75 year old bartender. Connection speeds here are low. I think they might of downgraded the service (that’s what internet cafes do, the owners tell me) after the place caught on. Lunch today was an Indonesian beef & vegetable curry, for 32,000rp, which stands out as one of the best things I have eaten in a long while.
