Nusa Dua Beach Bali
Nusa Dua is a custom designed resort complex featuring 20 resorts hotels. The location on the eastern side of the Bukit peninsula was chosen because of the expanses of sandy beaches. The reef that surrounds Nusa Dua provides protection from strong waves making the beaches safe for families with young children. One of the most popular beaches with expats in Bali is Pantai Geger beach, located south of Nusa Dua, at Pura Geger.
Another cool beach area is located directly east of the Bali Collection shopping complex. This beach area can be accessed via the 2 roads directly north and south of the Bali Collection shopping complex. Parking is available 100 meters behind the beach.
One of the nice aspects of this beach area is the amount of shaded ground. A large grassy area sits behind the beach, between the 2 ‘islands’ and is interspersed with tall trees, allowing families to relax and enjoy themselves. When the ride is out the beach doesn’t look the greatest, but when its in it can be a pleasant place. A pathway connects the 2 ‘islands’ with drink vendors every 10-20 meters. However you do no get the intense level of beach vending that you’ll find on Kuta Beach.
Keep going past the northernmost ‘island’ and you’ll find the stretch of beach in front of the Melia Bali and Sheraton Hotel. Continue to the south and you’ll come to the southernmost ‘island’. This area is quite interesting and you have 2 separate beach areas in view, across the narrow strip of land. The Swiss Bali Aga Hotel has a ‘beach club’ set up, with lounge chairs, shades and a bar. The area immediately adjacent to that also has lounge chairs. Following the path towards the southernmost ‘island’, one can follow a circular route around the grassy outcrop. A temple, Pura Bias Tugel is on the SE part and ‘blow-hole’ is directly eastwards looking out over the ocean. This outcrop has some shady trees and would be good for a family picnic. Good beaches are just to the south towards the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
