Meeting Anton in Tuban Bali
Saturday night Ika, Jevon and I sped down to Jl. Kartika Plaza. we had 2 things on our minds, food and meeting Anton, from S.Africa, before he left that evening. We met Anton last year as he was preparing to move from Cape Town, to Sydney. Many months have passed and this short trip was R&R for him. He spent a good deal of time down at the Bukit, and highly recommends it for a total chill out time. I know whenever I take a ride down there its feels like village Bali. I’m sure at nighttime its peaceful and perfect for someone from the city on a getaway trip.
Anton was packing his stuff and saying goodbye to friends, so Ika and I stopped at an Indian restaurant, next to Bali Slingshot, the giant rubber band with a capsule, used to shoot people in the air. Anton joined us after a while and we share some decent Indian food. Ika ordered a mutton dish, myself a lamb dish, which together with rice and naan was a good meal. Prices for main courses were in the 50,000rp range.
Anton’s friend Nonik joined us at the end. Nonik from Bali, is a manger at La Breeze restaurant, a new place on Jl. Kartika Plaza. Jevon just wanted to play with all the cutlery and condiments and we wee very thankful to the wait staff, as they took care of him while we ate. Anton had about 30 minutes to get back to his gear and shoot off to the airport, so we said a quick goodbye. He’s enjoying Sydney and feels the move has been a good one. I hope to see him on his trip home sometime to SA.
