Hallo Restaurants: Bali guide to eating out

Bali has various free magazines and handouts highlighting eating options and nightlife events. One of the latest is Hallo Restaurants, a handy-sized glossy magazine that features some of Bali’s best restaurants.

Hallo Restaurants covers the South of Bali including Canggu, Umalas, Petitenget, Seminyak, Kerobokan, Legian, Kuta, Tuban, Denpasar, Jimbaran and Sanur. The magazine is free and comes out the 7th of every month. What’s makes this magazine special is they provide a food delivery service from all participating restaurants, which is 24/7 if the restaurant is open.

Hallo Restaurants is produced in Seminyak and the website contains an online order form for food, from each of the partner restaurants. Cost of food delivery varies from area to area as is as follows:
(prices are for 2 picks up points, with an extra charge of 5,000rp per point).
•Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Oberoi, Petitenget, Batubelig – 12,000rp
•Tuban (Airport), Umalas – 14,000rp
•Canggu (max Pantai Lenjong) near Denpasar – 17,000rp
•Sanur, far Denpasar, Jimbaran (max Mcd), Minimum order 100,000rp – 22,000rp

Looking through the magazine its obvious the people behind it know how to present appeal layout, with the entire restaurant menu included with mouth watering photos. My copy was delivered straight to my house without me even asking for it. Obviously the expat market will account for most of the business. One cool section is called Beverage & Others and lists delivery prices of popular drinks and cigarettes. Small Bintangs are 14,000rp, large Bintangs are 18,000rp and a pack of Marlboro Lights are 11,000rp. If you are having a part and supplies run low it’s cool to have an option available (I reckon they should add condoms to the menu).
