Treasures of Bali: A guide to Bali’s museums

Bali has some great museums, including the Bali Museum in Denpasar and the whole array of museums in Ubud.
Treasures of Bali is a guide book that covers some of the most important including the Bali Museum and Kerta Gosa in Klungkung.

Here’s what the Jakarta Post says.

‘Treasures of Bali’ launched

‘The Bali Museum Association has just launched a new guide book to museums in Bali titled Treasures of Bali.

The first of its kind, the 192-page volume was a collaborative work and the production of owners and managers of all museums in Bali. Written by Richard Mann, the book discusses the museums and their contents, and will provide visitors with comprehensive information on each museum.

The book is illustrated with a stunning cover that incorporates a beautiful painting of Kerta Gosa Museum. It will be distributed by Gateway Books and will be available at Periplus bookstores.’

If you do visit a museum in Bali, make sure you either go in the morning, or early afternoon. There is a ‘little fiddle’ as my auntie Doris would say, that goes on in Bali. Staff at museums try to close 45 minutes to 1 hour early, then try to get you to pay them personally for ‘special opening’.
