Knowing when sunrise and sunset is can be useful for planning day trips. In Bali we are 8 degrees south of the equator and sunrise is usually sometime around 6.30am, sunset around 6.30pm depending on the season. If you are out hiking and look at the sky, you might think you have hours of daylight left, kind of like in Europe or the US in June when its still light 8pm.
