Sanur Village Community Farmers Market: Sanur, Bali

Sanur Beach began offering shoppers a new way to do their weekly purchases of home-made breads and organic farm produce through the trial-launch of a new concept Farmers Market according to an article in the Bali Discovery.

Those familiar with the Sanur area will know of the Batujimbar Café at Jalan Danau Tamblingan No 152 and this is where it is held right on the front veranda. Located on the main street, this restaurant presents dining at tile-topped tables in a small covered patio hidden behind tropical trees and flowers. The menu tempts with a variety of excellently prepared Indonesian and international favorites. Fresh organic produce is available for sale from Bali's Big Tree Farms and Kayu Api Breads offers fresh bakery produce. Yum, I can smell it now.

This event is a must-see and be a part of for any visitor to the island of Bali. The next Farmers Market is to be held on June 11th from 10am-2pm. There are places where you can sit and relax whilst enjoying your newly purchased tucker or just to enjoy the atmosphere.

It would be fabulous if this idea caught on all over the island and would be deal for when you are travelling on day trips or longer. The article does have some excellent fotos of the superb and relaxed atmosphere and I for one will be checking this place out to obtain some freshly grown goodies. I have a passion for fresh bread with hot chillis!. And no, I'm not pregnant!
