Gado Gado at Warung Komangi in Seminyak Bali
Gado Gado is one of the dishes you will find in every warung in Bali. Steamed vegetables, potato, tempe eggs and peanut sauce. Back in 1993, on my first visit to Bali, I ate one of these everyday. Today for lunch I stopped at Warung Komangi on Jl. Dhyana Pura. The place was virtually empty as usual but Komang, the friendly waitress from Tampaksiring, was working. I ordered a soto ayam (chicken soup, with bit of chicken, egg, veg, lime and sambal), gado gado, rice and a watermelon juice.
Everything was good and my small gado gado hit the spot. Jl. Dhyana Pura is sometimes called Jl. Gado Gado, after the restaurant located at the end. Gado Gado and rice makes for a decent snack that veggies will like. My bill was 31,000rp.
