Bastille Day in Bali

'Vive Le France!', were the words I wanted to shout on the night of the World Cup final but it was not to be.

However on Bastille Day in Bali you can utter these words as the French expats celebrate their National Day. France's loss against Italy in the final of the World Cup on Sunday July 9th will be the major topic of discussion and dominate the atmosphere of the party celebrating Bastille Day in Bali on July 14th 2006.

That loss will provide ample cause for French citizens and Francophiles attending the party to drink copiously as the Bali Discovery explains.

Bali's Comite des Fetes du Consulat Français has organized a "French buffet campagnard" to be held commencing at 8:30 p.m. at the La Canitina Restaurant on Friday July 14, 2006. An admission cost of Rp.200,000 will provide entrance to the event where French cheeses, cold cuts, barbeque, music and dance will be in generous supply.

Organizers assure that all are welcome - even Brazilians, who will receive gratuitous advice on the art of world-class football and Italians who will also be welcome if they agree to discuss anything "except" soccer.

Tickets to Bali's celebration of Bastille Day are available in advance at:

Café Moka

Victory or defeat in the World Cup for France the party on July 14th promises to be quite a party!
