Anniversary of the Bali Bombings
Wednesday, October 11th will be the 4th anniversary of the Bali Bombings, that killed over 200 people in Kuta. The Sari Club and Paddy’s were the scenes of carnage back in 2002, both sites, still undeveloped.
In recent months the actual road outside the sites has been renovated with a nice tile and there is a red light embedded in the road to mark where the Sari Club bomb went off. This year’s ceremony will take place at 8am at ‘ground zero’ and will be attended by the Australian Ambassador, Balinese diginitaries and thousands of tourists and locals.
There is no charge to attend the ceremony, although security is relatively tight. You will have your bags searched and be frisked by police. If you come bring water and a hat.
