Sunday afternoon at Pantai Segara in Tuban Bali
Sunday afternoon, Ika, Jevon and I went to a beach called Pantai Segara in Tuban. Located just north of the airport, Pantai Segara is almost exclusively a locals beach. Everyone is welcome, but Balinese families flock here on weekends to enjoy the sand and water. The reef which wraps around and protects against big waves, means this beach is much safer to swim at than Kuta Beach.
Plenty of young kids and their parents splashing around and having a good time. Pantai Segara has local fishing boats parked on the beach at the far south end along with a parking area for cars and motorbikes. There is one restaurant where we sat and had a Coke. The wind and rain came in, scattering the tourists in the restaurant further inside and motivating the staff the unroll the bamboo shutters, one aspect of life in Bali I really like. To get to Pantai Segara you can drive to the far south end of Jl. Kartika Plaza, making a right turn at the end.
