Sick wife in Seminyak Bali

Ika is having more of her headache / fever / chills cycle today. I’ve spent time helping her and Jevon, which is like juggling balls. With all the weird things that can happen to a person over here, its anyone’s guess what she’s got. Her sister has something that might be measles, there is an epidemic of that in Korea right now.

From experience I know that one must keep hydrated, so bought a bunch of the Coca Cola electrolyte drink sold in Circle K. Coming in orange and lemon, it tastes okay and costs 4,000rp. Sitting in the room with Ika, I’m sweating like a madman and its almost 9pm. She’s got sweat pants and long sleeves on. Jevon can’t keep his mits off of my keyboard and had just turned off the AC.

This afternoon I picked lovely papaya from one of our trees and fed some to Ika. She ate several mouthfuls before throwing it back up. The trick in getting a papaya off of a tree, is to poke the end of the hanging fruit with a pole, when the stem snaps, toss the pole and catch the falling fruit. I must say, that papaya was lovely, so it pays to eat it as soon as its off of the tree, assuming its ripe of course.
