Putting the word out in Seminyak Bali
I’m out of here soon, heading for the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany. I will be gone for several weeks and while not overly concerned about leaving Ika and Jevon here alone, I wanted to put the word out.
Last night I cornered one of the little thieves, that lives outside our house, and asked him if he knew who stole our phone. He shifted around nervously, and said it as nothing to do with him. I thanked him for doing a ‘good job’ on security, and told him I have a big sword, and that I would hit anyone who comes into my house, day or night. I think we have an understanding.
Ika’s relatives plan to come over for a while, which is good. I like the idea of Jevon getting to know them. Ika does this test with Jevon, where she sits him down, and places a line of objects about 6 ft away. These include a ball, horse, bus, car, book, keys and other bright objects. The other day I asked him to pick them out, one by one. He’s good and can either do it 100%, or misses 1.
