Jevon the little kids star in Bali

Today Ika, Jevon and I rode around Tegallalang, Tampaksiring and Ubud, exploring (getting lost) and enjoying the path less traveled (dealing with meter wide potholes). There is some nice real estate in that area (I should be an agent) and my GPS recored it all for me.

It funny because using a GPS in Bali, means plotting your course using the ‘Active Track’, which draws a line of dots. Today I knew where I wanted to go, and used the compass to help me. Unfortunately, the shortcut that I chose,
led us down steadily worse local roads, under the gaze of amazed locals locals. Finally we came to a single muddy track…wrong!

Anyway lunch today was at Cafe Lotus on Jl. Raya Ubud. Sitting under the long ‘bale’ next to the lily pond, we ordered a ‘mini Rijtstaffel (rice table) for 135,000rp. It was really just a big nasi campur, but gave us a chance to relax and let Jevon crawl around and explore.

Next to us were a couple from Korea, with a young daughter, past them an Aussie couple with young son. Its funny, whoever we are around, sooner of later says ‘Oh, look at him’. Whether its Indonesians, westerners or other Asians, people always point Jevon out. I think he looks different because of the hair, and that throws them. Anyway he crawled over to the Korean family, sat on their mat and ate crackers with their daughter. “There you are, young brother.” said the girl very politely in Korean. Nice for us that he likes to mix with other people.
