Hot feet in Seminyak Bali
Sunday afternoon I had a great idea. Why not nip over to Bali Deli, pick up some chicken and sausages and throw a little family bbq for Ika, Jevon, Ningrum and myself. Bali Deli, located on Jl. Kunti, which runs perpendicular off of Jl. Seminyak, is a on stop shop, for bbq’s and parties. I spent about 10 minutes getting all I needed, including a packat of snow peas. I like to fry them in a tiny bit of butter, with salt and pepper.
Back at the house I got things rolling, the bbq was smoking and the meat was prepared by Ika, who used soy sauce on the chicken, salt and pepper on the steak. Strolling around in bare feet, I really was feeling like a million dollars…until I stepped on a red hot coal with my left foot. The coal had fallen out and onto the footpath. In excrutiating pain I stepped away with my right foot…onto the other half of the red hot coal. Running to the bathroom, I doused my burning feet, and Ika brought me a tray of ice cubes, to help soothe them. We wrapped my feet with a bandage and today I am hobbling around, with 2 large, deep, burns on the ball and forward heel of my feet. We’ll see how things go, but right now the only thing I can do is sit in front of a computer.
