Fun with the internet in Seminyak Bali
Back from the gym, getting online was my next hurdle. A number of things can happen to my connection, the most common being the power supply fails for a second due to the useless plug adapters. I get booted off, or stalled until the juice flows again. I’ve tried propping the thing with books to get a snug fit, but its so loose that after a while, I’m off again. Today I got an error message from my ISP saying ‘Maximal Concurrent System Sessions Reached’.
That means that in my frustration, I had clicked too many times for a connection and the system was jammed at the server. Calling my ISP, a very polite young man answered and we went through the process. My phone beeped then cut out…no more pulsa. Adding up my to do list (new plug, call ISP, get pulsa) I saw Bintang supermarket in my future. Riding down there I bought 100,000rp of pulsa for 100,000rp (used to be 110,000rp) and went inside. The security guard waved me inside without checking when I sarcastically raised my arms like a convict. Upstairs in Bintang is and array of stuff, including the cheapest plug adapters every made. I went for a triple prong one and which cost something like 10,000rp. Back at the house I was getting mixed results with the new one, some juice but not reliable, so back with the old one, now repositioned.
While I was out the ISP guy reset the server to unblock my account. Yippee!!!! Okay, so all I have to do is type articles and get them online.
