Evening at Global in Kerobokan Bali
Last night I could not get online to save my life. Frustrated I went down to an internet cafe on Jl. Dhyana Pura. They had a sign up saying Indosat was dwon between 5pm-11pm. All the places would be the same. Riding out to ISP and internet cafe, Global Xtreme in Kerobokan I bought 2 hours of access for 14,000rp and got online. The speed was good and the place was only half full. I used to go to Global all the time, but haven’t been for a while.
As with many places the same staff are there, but some are looking a little tired. Global serves food, great tea and coffee and alcohol. I had a ginger tea, which sparked my energy. My task last night was to update our hotel section. Check it out, you can find places galore and more will be added.
While working I bumped into an old freind from the US who is researching getting a job in Aceh, with an aid agency. “Bro, Bali has changed and I’m sick of it. This chick I was dating turned around a screwed me over, I tell you Bro I want something new.” he said. The expat scene is always interesting and people are either on the upswing or the downswing.
Riding home from I took extra care to avoid a head on collision with the Balinese suicide riders coming the other way heading for Canggu, Kerobokan and Denpasar. They were in my lane, one guy overtaking another guy, who is over taking a bus.
