Dealing with my Business Visa in Singapore

Phoning my ‘agent’ Mr Wahab, last night, he told me to meet him at a McDonalds, in a shopping complex on Orchard Rd today. I feel like I’m doing something naughty and I’m not!

Mr Wahab was going to be at the McDonalds between 9am, and 11am, then hit the Indo Embassy. I got there at 10 am and handed over my new passport, 1 photo, the new paperwork Arjuna had sorted out for me for 2m rp, and gave Mr Wahab $240 Sing (US$153). About to leave he said “Excuse me, the passport number on the form is not yours, they will reject it.” Arjuna had put my old passport number on the form, so Mr Wahab suggested we staple the new one to the old one. “No problem.” he said. Once again, if I didn’t watch out, my ass would be in a sling. Lucky for me I still kept my old expired passport in my moneybelt.

Picking up the passport will take place at the McDonalds sometime around 4pm today. I’ll have to hussle, as my flight is at 5.55pm (30 minutes by taxi to the airport).

Coming out here a friend in Bali handed me a small packet, and asked me to deliver it to a friend. It was promotional stuff, I know because I opened it and looked. I like people, but in this day and age I’d hate to wake up in Kerobokan or Changi thinking ‘Why didn’t I check the contents of that packet?’ My friend said it would be good for me to meet his friend. No chance of that as I’m busy, so I dropped his packet at the guest house I statyed at. The Chinese guy on the desk is cool and I trust him.

Visiting Singapore should be more pleasurable, but and maybe sometime I’ll bring Ika and stay for 3-4 days.
