Balinese wedding in Tabanan Bali-part II

As is traditional in Balinese weddings, there was a guest book and a donation box at the entrance. I put in 100,000rp, hope it gets to Wayan.

Immediately Wayan’s sister, a lovely lady named Kadek, invited me to partake of drinks and Balinese food, which was very good. Balinese food, I find, is an acquired taste. I describe it as ‘village food’, lacking the complexity of Javanese food, and nowhere in the same universe as Chinese food, Balinese food is still unique and tasty, once you learn to appreciate it. I love the way they mix coconut and vegetables, and today sampled, pork, chicken and other fiery dishes. The melon carvings were awesome!

People were welcoming and invited me to eat plenty!
