Who is Tiara Lestari?

Tiari Lestari is an Indonesian who has starred in Playboy, Penthouse and FHM magazines. I’d never heard of her before I came to Bali and have not had the chance to see her work. Tiara is in the news because of the hullabaloo over the pornography bill, that lawmakers are threatening to introduce.

She looks likes shes hot stuff form the newspaper photo. Of all famous people in Indonesia, the new bill would probably affect her the most. I mean photo shoots in Indonesia would be out of the question. In reference to the new law Tiara said “I must believe that the best and the brightest minds in Indonesia will continue their debate to form a law that protects its children from the danger of pornography while protecting the rights of its citizens to speak and exercise their creative wisdom without fear of censorship or prosecution.”

Tiara is having an exhibition of her work in Bali soon entitled “From Sensual to Elegance.” I feel sorry for the religious fundamental guys. There is something wrong with them, not us. Who in his right mind would want to ban somebody who looks like Tiara Lestari?
