Villas in Bali: Sukhavari Retreat
Luxury holiday villas are all over the place in Bali. People are attracted by the idea of having their own place, own pool, a place they can entertain. Look around online and you’ll find an array of holiday villas in Seminyak, Canggu, Umalas, Ubud etc. offering different levels of service.
For some people, the idea of having live-in staff, on hand 24/7 to clean, cook and serve, is pure paradise. For others, its a bit weird. I’m used to having a pembantu around for several hours a day, but I know she’s going home at 5pm. You can’t argue about the ‘Wow factor’ though. I’ve visited the villas of some people in Bali, complete with huge pool made with natural rocks, massive lounge area, AC master bedrooms etc. The sky is the limit, as far as prices for all inclusive luxury villas, that come with driver, chefs, security etc. I have also been to very nice holiday villas without staff, for about $100 a night (3 bedroom), in Seminyak.
Sukhavari Retreat located 25 minutes west of Seminyak, is a collection of holiday villas, offering a variety of services. I found the place online, after reading by Adi Arifin’s newsletter, commenting on how Sukhavari Retreat has a ‘proper blend of luxurious comfort without creating distance to the nature’. Sukhavari Retreat is far enough from Seminyak, so the owners could buy a block of land adjacent to their villas, affording a sense of natural privacy.
Another place that offers this kind of space is Linda Garland Estate, up in Ubud.
