Terror Instruction Book for Bali Bombings

A terror instruction manual for last year's Bali suicide bombings that killed at least 20 people contains minute details on even the kind of clothes the attackers should wear, the sites they should choose as also how they should hide the explosives, a report said today.

Police recovered the 34 page document "The Bali Project" from the computer of Azhari Husin a Malaysian born engineer educated in Australia and Britain who was the master bombmaker and one of Southeast Asia's most dangerous terrorists before he was killed in a shootout last November.

At least 20 people were killed when three men walked into separate restaurants in Bali and blew themselves up in October last year in a copy-cat attack of the massive 2002 bombings in the same place which left over 200 dead. The instruction manual book said Bali was chosen as the famed tourist destination would have a global impact.

It said the bombs should be small and placed in day packs making them harder to detect and that the bombers should dress like tourists. It also said the attackers should not bother targeting hotels because security is too tight and instead should consider restaurants, discos and theatres.

A thorough survey should be done in advance by the bombers themselves so that they are more familiar with the sites and no one is left behind to be hunted later by the police.
