Investing in Indonesia: Even the Big Fish are nervous
Resource rich and under developed Indonesia makes an enticing target for many companies. The low costs of labor and lax rules concerning pollution, means foreign factories can knock out their goods all day long, without a care who it affects. Its not all plain sailing though.
One of the biggest companies on the planet GE (General Electric ) would love to be involved with Indonesia’s development. However, as GE Southeast Asia President Stuart L. Dean says, there are still some issues that have to be resolved before chucking down hard cash. I think on a micro level, many people who come to Bali go through some of the same thought process.
