Indonesia terror threat remains
A couple of nights ago we were told to batten down the hatches by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. According to their intelligence, terrorists were in the late stages of a planned attack and could strike anywhere westerners gather. For sure there are nasty people out there up to no good, and probably at some time in the future,
they will do more nasty things.
Here in Seminyak its late Saturday afternoon. People are gearing up for ‘party night’. The only partying I’ll be doing is taking Ika ti dinner, and maybe watching some soccer later. Jl. Dhyana Pura will be a madhouse after 11pm, with expats, locals, tourists, benchongs and a heavy presence from participants in the gay scene.
Saturday night is always going to be night attacks on tourists happen, but that is not going to deter partiers in Seminyak. US think tank intelligence group Stratfor reckons the threat is still plausible. Extremist Abdul Rasyid was recently arrested in Sumbawa, east of Bali and his statement could of prompted the alert. Anyway, the chances of you getting into trouble in Bali are small. Just the other day I talked to a cashier at Raja’s who was inside the place it was hit. She walked away unhurt.
Come to Bali, enjoy the nature, the culture, weather, food and party.
