Indonesia cuts sentences for Bali Bombers
Indonesia today cut the sentences of 12 men, found guilty in conspiring to murder, in the 2002 Bali bombing. August 17th is Indonesian Independence Day, and well behaved prisoners recieve remission.
In western countries well behaved prisoners are entitled to parole, which ultimately amounts to the same thing, getting out quicker. The thing that doesn’t sit well with many people is that terrorists qualify. The prisoners who have connections to the 2002 bombings played minor roles, such as providing shelter, but even doing that, knowing what was about to happen makes them guilty in my view.
Schapelle Corby got 2 months off of her 20 year sentence. Here’s more from the BBC.
