Idul Fitri in Bali

Today marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadhan and the beginning of the two-day celebration of Idul Fitri across Indonesia. Around Bali you will see lots of domestic tourist enjoying the public holiday. Families across Indonesia begin this morning with a special Prayer. This prayer offers a special thanks to god for the strength and discipline received during the holy month of Ramadan. It is common [accepted] people distribute sweets and children wear new clothes on this great Muslim festival known as Eid.

If you would like to experience this two day festival whilst in Bali there are several Muslim enclaves on the island, notably Klungkung. You will be surprised at your acceptance in partaking in the festivities that go on well into the night.
