Bush’s helipad not popular with Bogor residents

US President GW Bush will be visiting Indonesia later in November. As always, his visit will be treated like the D-Day landings, with troops, police, boats, planes and flying saucers all guarding his person.

The Pres. will be flown from Suharno Hatta airport, by helicopter to the hilltown of Bogor. The carefully picked langing zone, will be a helipad inside Bogor’s famous botanical gardens, but not everyone is pleased about this.

I reckon the way to go, is for Bush to catch a bemo up to Bogor, negotiating a special rate for him, and the 25 Secret Service in the other bemo. After a cosy meeting with SBY, Bush could don that green work shirt and ‘press the flesh’ with some Moooslims. How about a tour through the rice belt, acting ‘folksy’ and telling farmers how family values, cutting taxes and war, equal a better tommorrow.

Will be interesting to see what transpires.
