Berlin: A very different place than Bali

Nick here from Germany. I made it to Germany, arriving after midnight the other day and getting to our apartment at 1am. I’m staying near Alexander Platz in the former East Berlin.

The reason I came here was to help cover the 2006 World Cup soccer tournament for WorldCupBlog. Its chilly here in Berlin and an adjustment for me. People are very civilized and nice, and the beer is great. 3 doors down from the apartment is a small local pub, decorated with anti Bush posters and paraphernalia, I love it!

Over the next month, I’ll be travelling all over Germany, interviewing people and documenting what”s going on over here. Probably crawl off the plane in July and need a vacation after I get back.
