Bali International 10K – A Run for Unity
If you just happen to be in Bali on Sunday August 10th and you are full of enthusiasm for a long jog and you have packed your running shoes in your suitcase then are you in for a treat. The Bali International 10 K will be run as part of the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the province of Bali and the 63rd anniversary of Indonesian independence. This event is now included on the annual agenda for Bali Provincial Government. For this year’s event the 10 kilometres road race will carry its theme International Bali10K A Run for Unity Besides the pure enjoyment of participating, the race offers door prizes available to all finishers. For those elite international athletes – professionals – there are place prizes and are in the categories of male, female and student.
The race gets underway at 6:00 a.m. local time with the start and finish at the Monument for the People’s Struggle – Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat Bali – in Renon in Denpasar. This is an international event and has become a time for athletes as well as all sports fans to gather from all parts of Indonesia and the world. Even if you don’t participate, get on down there to see the start and the finish and become a part of what has been become a yearly highlight in Bali.
