Bali Bombing film banned locally

A film dramatization covering the 2002 Bali bombings, has been banned locally. The Long Road To Heaven was directed by Ennison Sinaro, and tells the story of the Sari club terrorist attack from the perspective of tourists, locals and bombers.

The film has been shown in Jakarta, but I Gusti Ngurah Gde, head of Bali’s film board, said a decision was made not to show the film here, due to the emotional nature of the subject. The Long Road To Heaven will probably be all over the DVD shops, so you’ll have to wait till you get home to watch it.

Here in Indonesia things can go off at a moments notice, and the local government obviously doesn’t want to see Muslims in Bali targeted.
