Bali bombers to meet their end soon

Bombers responsible for the nighlclub bombings in Kuta in October 2002, are expected to be sent to a firing squad within the next few weeks. Bombers Iman Samudra, Amrozi and Ali Gufron, were convicted in Denpasar of plotting and executing the Kuta bombings.

The 3 are currently being held in Nusakambanang prison in Java, after Balinese tempers suggested they might not be safe in Kerobokan. Made Suratmaja, the head of Denpasar’s district attorney office told reporters “Last week, we sent letters to the convicts, their families and their lawyers to notify preparation for the execution.”

Executions in Indonesia are done by firing squad, at a remote location. Details are not given about the exact time until the execution is complete.
