Andrew Chan in line for death penalty in Denpasar Bali
Bali Nine kingpin Andrew Chan was in Denpasar District Court today to hear the prosecutions sentencing request for him if he is found guilty.
Chan has been uncooperative ever since his arrest, aboard a Sydney bound plane last year. Though not having drugs on him (kingpins usually don’t, they hire mules), there exists enough background history of association, passport history and cell phone records, as well as testimony of the other Bali Nine, that Chan was the boss. The prosecutors said they are damanding the death sentence for him.
His trial resumes on Feb 2nd and will likely result in a guilty verdict. After all that is over I might try to get interview with him and some of the others in Kerobokan jail.
