Pelangi Hotel in Seminyak Bali
Seminyak offers a slightly more relaxed scene than Kuta and for people on a budget who are looking for a decent standard hotel, one suggestion is the Pelangi.
Located on Jl. Abimanyu and extending down to the beach between Jl. Dhyana Pura and Jl. Double Six, the Pelangi is ideally located for people interested in the beach, the restaurants & nightlife, but who still demand a certain level of peace and quiet.
Saturday morning Ika, Jevon and I paid a visit to the Pelangi at the request of Jay & Cheryl, visiting from Hawaii. The property is a long thin rectangle that finishes with a beach side restaurant and 2 pools. The Pelangi seems popular with Australians and out on the beach recent developments include small bamboo structures being erected on a cement base, creating a cool spot to grab a drink. These places are owned by Balinese lcoals and the beach scene as a whole in Seminyak is less intense than in Kuta.
Staff at the Pelangi are friendly, that’s what I’ve heard from various people and the food is decent, though here in Seminyak you’d probably be out exploring the wonderful eating options rather than staying in. The Pelangi is just 5 minutes walk from the party scene on Jl. Dhyana Pura, 10 minute along the beach to Blue Ocean beach and several minutes from the shopping on Jl. Seminyak. There is some kind of taxi mafia operating along Jl. Dhyana Pura who will not allow other taxi companies to enter to pick up people at the Pelangi and other hotels. Apart from this the Pelangi represents a good value place to stay, ideal for families and couples.
